Stuffed with minced meat

If you are a fan of eating extremly soft homemade buns with spicy masala fillings, then this recipe is for you.  These buns can be made with any filling. You may also make it with a spicy potato masala filling or any other of your favorite vegitable fillings. 

Makes 16 soft small buns. 



Ingredients for the dough:
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp sugar + 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp powder milk (Nido)
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp instand yeast
  • 3/4 cup LUKE WARM water (shouldnt be too hot)

Method:
  1. Knead all ingredients into a dough. Knead for 7-8mins. 
  2.  Oil the pot and let the dough sit covered for an hour.
  3. In the meantime prepare the masala mince meat 

Ingredients for the Minced Meat Masala:
  • 300g minced meat 
  • 1 large onion
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 crushed garlic cloves
  • 1/2 tbsp cumin 
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 1/2 tsp salt or to taste 
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp red chili powder (optional)
Method:
  1. In a pot add oil and saute the chopped onion until translucent. Add crushed garlic and saute as well.
  2. Add the Ground Beef, salt, pepper, thyme, cumin and let it ook for 10 mins stirring constantly. 
  3. Let it cook for another 15 minutes covered. Keep aside to cool!
How to ensemble into a bun: 
  1. Knead the dough again and make 4 EQUAL portions. 
  2. Role out each portion into a chappati (circle) shape. (Keep it little thicker than a chappati. 
  3. Cut it into 4 equal triangle shapes and fill each triangle with your favorite chutney (ketchup, tamarin chutney) and prepared minced meat. 
  4. Fold the triangle into a triangle buns by first folding the left corner into the center, then overlap the second right corner onto the first and at last overlap the third corner to build a triangle bun. 
  5. Sprinkle some seeds on top and brush with some egg white.
  6. Bake at 180°C for 15-20minutes.
